Quaternionic Left Eigenvalue Problem: A Matrix Representation Approach

This work presents a routine that finds the left eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a $n \times n$ quaternionic martix. The algorithm is from solving a system of equations of multivariate polynomials of degrees at most $4n-3$ based on real matrix representation of quaternions. That is, the left eigenvalues are the solutions of this system. Some properties of those eigenvalues are also investigated.
