The 12th International Conference on Clifford Algebras and Their Applications in Mathematical Physics (ICCA12)
ICCA12 will be held at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)
in Hefei, Anhui, China, from August 3 to 7, 2020. (USTC: http://en.ustc.edu.cn/)
This conference is the next edition in a long line of conferences starting in 1986 at the University of Canterbury, UK. This series of international conferences aims at bringing together leading scientists and young researchers in the field of Clifford algebras and their various applications in mathematics, physics, engineering and other applied sciences. The English mathematician and philosopher William Kingdon Clifford (1845-1879) is best remembered for his geometric algebras, nowadays better known in mathematics as Clifford algebras, named so in his honor, but he also contributed significantly to other branches of mathematics, especially geometry.
The current edition is also dedicated to Loo-Keng Hua (1910 – 1985) on the occasion of his 110th birthday and 35th anniversary of his death. Loo-Keng Hua was the first Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Vice President of University of Science & Technology of China (USTC). Most researchers working in Clifford algebras always remember him for his book "Starting with the unit circle“. It was published in 1981 in its English edition and the Chinese edition was already published in 1962, which inspired an entire generation of mathematicians. Among other things it also contains a version of the conformal model in geometric algebra.
The ICCA12 conference will be held on time but it becomes an online conference with free registration (using software ZOOM).
